HCAM Awards John Gaynier Life Membership and Achievement Honor
Ciena Healthcare’s John Gaynier, Regional Director of Operations, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Honor at the Healthcare Association of Michigan’s September Conference in Grand Rapids. John has served on the HCAM Board of Directors for over twenty years. His involvement, according to HCAM records, began in 1979. During that time he has attended the annual conference, Leadership conference, Region One meetings, golf outings and AHCA annual conferences. He has been a supporter of and mentor to numerous Region One Representatives.
In addition to his involvement in HCAM, John was a member of the Macomb County Healthcare Administrators from 1979 to 1994 and served as the Vice President for two years and on the Board of Directors for six years. He has been a member of the American College of Healthcare Administrators since 1985. His community service includes four years (1991-1995) on the Board of Directors of Henry Ford Wyandotte Medical Center.
John is considered a historian of the nursing home industry in Michigan. He is a second generation Administrator; his father, John Gaynier Senior, was an owner-operator and received one of the first licenses to practice, in the state (license number 288). John Gaynier Junior has practiced as an Administrator since 1977, (license number 1611). He has provided quality services in existing physical plants such as at Nightengale East for over twenty-one years and has opened numerous new physical plants including Regency at Bluffs Park, Regency at Canton, Regency at Grand Blanc and Notting Hill of West Bloomfield.
John is a mentor to many people that have gone on to work and excel in our industry. He is a gentleman and a loyal friend and for all of these reasons, and why he was nominated and awarded the HCAM Life Membership. Congratulations, John!
