Laurels of Kent
The Laurels of Kent is a 153-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center operated by Ciena Healthcare. Located in the quaint town of Lowell, Michigan, we host both short-term and long-term guests at our facility, where we provide medical, social, and emotional care that optimizes each guest’s independence and enjoyment of life.
The Laurels is situated in a comfortable country setting with easy access to I-96, M-21, and the Grand Rapids hospitals. Although the community is surrounded by farmland, Lowell is very active with multiple events, festivals, shopping, churches, parks, restaurants, a library, a senior center, and fairgrounds.
What brings it all together is our conviction that each guest deserves our compassion, respect, and friendship. It's The Laurel Way of Caring, and we do it every day.

Skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) like Ciena Healthcare provide crucial services for our most vulnerable population: the frail and elderly. Today’s SNFs have significantly evolved over time to provide both long-term comprehensive care and short-term rehabilitation services. However, in comparison to other medical settings, especially hospitals, SNFs are often overlooked for important resources and funding.
As health care evolves, skilled nursing facilities are increasingly providing care previously delivered in hospitals. Nationwide, the 65 and older population will double over the next 20 years. By 2040, it could triple. As our population ages, SNFs are becoming increasingly vital to the care and wellbeing of our seniors.
