"My father had a stroke and my sister and I live out of town but have family in the Charlottesville area. We had been to another rehab in the area and had a horrible experience in the short time my father was there so after another short hospital stay we decided to come to the Laurels. The care at the Laurels has been wonderful and the staff really care about my father and his needs. Caring for someone from so far away is hard enough but it has been much easier knowing he is at the Laurels. They were very attentive to my father. He was always clean and didn’t smell. The food was appetizing. The laundry was done instead of having a lockdown memory unit. They kept the outdoors locked, and access to an atrium was available anytime the patients wanted to smell fresh air. It was very comfortable. The staff was personable.
