We all agreed that Maplewood was the place to keep us safe and secure. It has the best nutrition and health care. My friends thought a social climate was very important. My mother's health care has been outstanding. The staff and her care takers are compassionate and dedicated to their patients. They regularly communicate with me to provide the best services they can for her and treat her like she is part of their family. Thanks to everyone at The Laurels of Chatham!

Before I admitted to The Laurels of Hillsboro, I couldn't do any daily task independently. From the start, my goals were being able to put my socks on by myself, daily grooming for myself, and being able to walk on my own. I passed every goal I had with the help of the amazing therapy staff that pushed me to do my best and believed in me, even when I did not.

People are quick to judge a care facility without observing what really goes on. My husband recently passed away after residing there for four months. We can not say enough good things about the staff, the nurses, the CNAs, and the administrative people. They took such good care of my husband. He was in the advanced stage of dementia. There are things there that people need overlook. The building is old and by no means fancy, but the place is clean (no smell). Beds are changed, patients are clean, dressed, and up. The food is excellent, and patients receive food if they are hungry after their regular meals. My family and I were there almost every day, so do not judge a book by its cover and OBSERVE. We love them all and will never forget them, especially one nurse, Jannette.
