Edited: If I could do 4.5/5 I would. The fact that this facility cares and actively seems to be trying to address issues goes a long way to me as a former business owner. I know the stars are often the only thing looked at, so I’m trying to honor that I do respect them working to improve. Everyone here cares and is friendly, which is important too. In the end, sometimes the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing. Original review: tl;dr Regency at Livonia is not bad for short-term rehab. I would never put a loved one here for nursing home care unless I was trying to have them just be somewhere safe with minimal services (enhanced by the ot/pt though) until they can pass away. My experience at Regency at Livonia is as a dear friend and emergency contact and medical fiduciary of said friend. My friend went from a hospital stay to needing short-term, in-patient rehab. He spent about 4 weeks here. It is a mixed bag of good and bad in my opinion at Regency at Livonia. Some of the things are to be expected from these facilities. Some are extremely stellar things where they are doing wonderfully. Some are extremely disappointing where they are lacking. I am attempting to be as fair and diplomatic as possible. Let's start with their stellar aspects. If you need wound care, Stacey, their wound care nurse, is OUTSTANDING. She has 30+ years experience, and it shows! The greeting staff, who are the first faces you see when arriving, are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Their nurse techs are also amazing and so kind. They have a wonderful gym for residents there for physical and occupational therapies--one of the best outfitted gyms I have been to, and I have been in many pt/ot situations. These are some of their AMAZING things, no doubt! Their average to bad things include diet (the food is as you'd expect and is nothing that really has any nutritional value AND good luck if you have a standing order because they get the order wrong FREQUENTLY), wait time for response to calls (this can take hours), and information (they aren't always great at giving information even when asked unless you are like me and will hound them). They also aren't always the best at noticing safety issues like toilet seats that are off or shower curtains that are shredded. Maintenance is less than average. They will let call sounds go on for an hour without responding, so the nurse's station where there is an atrium area and dining is always alarmingly loud. While they have a great gym, I was less than impressed with the staff for persons needing actual rehab. It seemed great for the nursing home residents, but for someone who isn't being warehoused waiting to die, they didn't really do a great job seeing what could and could not be done from my perspective. Am I an expert, nope. Have I had lots of experience with this personally, yes. Take it for what it is worth to you.

My Father was at Regency for 14 Days. He was treated very well. I would like to recognize the following individuals for going above and beyond in care of my father. Kenyatta, Shaunte, Stacy, Jackie, and Genise. Two things that could be done better: 1) At times more aides were needed , there wasn’t enough help ( and it is not fair to the aides). 2) A instruction sheet for a Saturday, Sunday or Monday discharge should be given explaining what is going to happen upon discharge. ( There is no one to explain since they are off for the weekend.)

I recently spoke with a dear friend of over fifty years who happened to be a Regency at Livonia resident at the time. I have no doubt that she has been quite pleased to have such a conscientious staff of professionals providing for her every need, and with her best interests at heart. She always greeted me with a warm smile and made sure I had everything I needed to stay engaged. Her thoughtfulness truly made a difference in my recovery experience.”

Regency in Livonia provides top-notch, quality care for my family member. Lachelle in admissions worked extremely hard to honor our families requests. The administrator Rose is very patient, clear and took time to explain all familial responsibilities and made us aware of important information. The front desk administrators Angie and the other staff in charge of this area have always made me feel protected and informed when entering and exiting the building. All of the P.T's, O.T's, RN's, LPN's, MA's, CNA's, and medical support staff are always willing to meet my loved ones needs. Kendra, Tracy, Toya, Chris and Jaylen are many other employees work extraordinarily hard to make sure my mother is very well taken care of they are all very honest individuals that work over and above expectations at all times. Kenyetta, Lily and all staff members that have assisted my mom in her recovery journey are wonderful!

I am so pleased with the maintenance team and activities team. Maintenance gave me a brand new TV, bars for my bed, over the bed table, and a bed. Everything that I needed they came the same day to make aurerhat I was taken care of. Lily had so many activities for us that I was extremely impressed. The staff here is phenomenal.
